2020 SUMMER PROGRAM
We cannot wait to host our SIXTH annual summer camp! COVID-19 has forced us to change our format, but it won't keep us apart. We're looking forward to celebrating creativity, love, power, and community virtually this summer! Please find all our need-to-know info, as well as the registration link below.
June 27, July 11, 18, 25, August 1. Hours are TBD, they'll be based on registration responses.
Location + Fees:
Camp will be held at online via Zoom. After the registration window closes, you'll receive all final details including Zoom links! There is no cost associated with participating in Girls Write the World; however, campers are expected to assist with fundraising activities.
Girls Write the World is open to all female students in 8th-12th grade who are currently attending a public school in Washington County, MS. Space is limited and the application process is selective. Interested campers should apply using the registration link below.
If you have questions about the application process please contact us at:
Typical Day at Camp:
Virtual camp will look and feel a bit different than years past. We'll gather online for 90 minute creative writing classes. In these classes, campers study the work of inspiring female poets, work to develop their own poems, then participate in small group revision workshops. Our classes are designed to address some of the unique challenges and opportunities of girlhood.
